On 28 March 2018 Macedonian project partner BCM carried out the Introductory awareness raising event to discuss, besides the EU law on employee involvement, the implementation of the experiment into practice – in a pilot company.

Theoretical aspects on employee involvement in the decision making were presented to the participants and were followed by a debate on the next steps. Participants were acquainted with practical solutions of workers involvement in practice, how the elections of employees’ representatives are carried out and how they are being informed or consulted by the management. Good practice examples were shared with them by the EU Member States’ representatives - Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia - as well as European legal framework.

The representative of Macedonian Ministry of social policy gave his opinion and comments on the solutions from WIM2 draft of Workers' Participation in Management Act, and also his point of view on employee involvement in management.

Macedonian pilot companies expressed their willingness to cooperate in the experiment and carry out the election procedure.
Pilot companies are aware of the importance of employee representatives’ role in companies, not only due to the EU accession but also to improve satisfaction of employees and communication flow within a company. Therefore, they are willing to actively discuss solutions to transfer the part of the European legal order that addresses the participation of employees, into the decision making processes in company. They see the added value in a more competitive and stimulating business environment, in motivated employees, in a closer link between the capital and labour, in a more favourable rewarding of successful employees, etc.
