The Slovenian National Assembly has passed the pension reform without a single opposing vote on 4th December 2012.
On the 22th of November 2012 indirect elections were held for stakeholder representatives in the National Council, which elected four members of representatives of employers.

At the 1st Annual Congress of the Association of Employers of Slovenia (ZDS), which took place in Ljubljana on October 9, 2012, the envisaged changes of labour legislation were the central theme.

On the 4th and 5th October ZDS organized a meeting of the Secretary Generals of Employers' Associations of Central and Eastern European (CEE) initiative in Rimske Toplice, Slovenia.

The 2nd session of Management Board of Association of Emoployers of Slovenia took place in Ljubljana on the 2. October 2012.
Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs presented the propositions on today's news conference and published them on their website.
On July 12, 2012, ZDS submitted to the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs written proposals and comments concerning the Starting points for the labour market reform. ZDS has assessed the document as a step forward since the Prime Minister has assured us that the Employment Relationships Act will be opened in its entirety, which ZDS has been trying to achieve for many years.

At its first Management Board meeting, ZDS hosted Andrej Vizjak, M.Sc., Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, who presented the current negotiations for the Social Agreement 2012-2016 and the reference points for the envisaged amendments to the labour market and pension legislation.

Final conference of the European project "Restructuring and industrial relations in the transport sector - RITS" with a title Sustainable Transport and the role of social partners was organized by ZDS in Ljubljana.

At the 1st General Assembly of the Association of Employers of Slovenia the president, Milan Lukic, director and business consultant Lumar IG Ltd.,was re-elected unanimously, the new Vice President of the Association are Stojan Binder, Director SINET Ltd. and Miroslav Smrekar, CEO Adecco HR ltd..

At the meeting of the management board of the Adriatic Region Employers' Centre (AREC), held on 23 April 2012 in Belgrade, Jože Smole, ZDS Secretary General, was elected the new president of AREC.

ZDS General Assembly discussed and approved the Annual Report 2011 and Financial Report for the year 2011 and discussed and adopted work program and financial plan of Association of employers of Slovenia for 2012.

The Management Board ZDS met at its regular meeting and approved the Annual Report for the year 2011 and the Financial report for the year 2011 and adopted the Work program and Financial plan of ZDS for 2012, and sent them to the ZDS General ssembly for approval.
In accordance with the provisions of the Minimum Wage Act and the possibility of raising the minimum wage discussed at the last meeting of the Economic and Social Council, the Minister of Labour determined the new minimum wage that was publiched in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, no 5/2012.
According to its Press Release of 19 January 2012, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia took note of the Information on essential proposals for amendments to the Employment Relationships Act and demanded from the Ministry of Labour to prepare a draft law to be considered at the Government meeting.

The ZDS Management Board met at its 22nd regular meeting in zDS premises in Ljubljana.
The ZDS’s Management Board discussed at its meeting the priorities of the new Government and expectations about its actions formulated into the ZDS's starting points for the new economic and social agreement.

The Slovenian Employers’ Association and the Transport Association at the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised on 13 October 2011 a workshop within the framework of the RITS project activities.

The Association of Employers of Slovenia organized an event in Novo mesto as part of the project “Promoting Employee Financial Participation in the EU-27” (Pro-EFP).
Please note that new Rules were published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, no. 71/2011. The Rules will come into force as of January 1, 2012.
