On 21 December 2009 the 11^th session of the management board of the ZDS took place. The board members got acquainted with the draft bill for the minimum wage, which was prepared for social partners by the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs. The management board of the ZDS continues to take the stance that there is no reason to change the legal definition on the minimum wage under the current economic conditions. Furthermore, it is unacceptable for the minimum wage to be defined in a net amount; therefore, the ZDS insists that the future definition of the minimum wage be given as gross income. At the same time, the management board of the ZDS expects the Slovenian government to contribute its share in raising the gross amount of the minimum wage by increasing the net payment to employees by accepting higher general tax relief. The ZDS also challenges the competent ministry to prepare calculations which will show the consequences of raising the minimum wage for employers and employees, as well as for the state budget.
